プリンスオブペルシャ

RELEASE DATE: 6 NOVEMBER 1991
STYLE: ACTION / PLATFORM
FORMAT: SUPER CD-ROM
RATING:

Overview
Escaping from the evil Sultan's prison, you have to make your way through the various levels to find the princess. There are many traps laid for you, including spiked pits, falling floors and switch operated doorways. The focus is more on exploration and acrobatics than action, although you do come across guards that have to be dispatched once you find a handy sword.

Comment
Prince of Persia is more than just a conventional platform game. Due to its control method, it requires carefully timed movement as well as precise positioning. It’s the kind of game where you have to constantly replay levels to learn how to finish them, but once you do it is quite satisfying. Also, you have a time limit for the whole game which is counting down throughout, so the pressure is really on. It’s also the inspiration for the Tomb Raider games, only it’s a lot better, and it has a very impressive soundtrack too.
